So here we are
I can thank Elena Verna for my newfound 'expert' status – apparently, I know things, and people are actually into that! This revelation hit me on LinkedIn. I came across Elena's gem of advice: if you're asked the same thing thrice, it's your cue to broadcast your wisdom to the world. So, I gave it a shot and, lo and behold, turns out I'm not just full of questions, but answers too! Who knew, right?
Why this, and why now
Over a decade ago, when blogs were the hot new thing, I jumped on the bandwagon. I created my own little corner of the internet, a mishmash of inspiring tales and projects I was dabbling in. It wasn't about getting followers; it was more of a personal portfolio-meets-inspiration-board. It was a snapshot of what got my gears turning back then. That blog landed me a gig at Nokia and a one-way ticket from Madrid to London!
Fast forward to now, and I'm feeling that same urge – not to hop back to Madrid or London, but to have a spot for dumping my brain's contents. A handy reference point for those repeat questions and my point of view on what makes product marketing great.
Why now? Well, we're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from 2024, and I've got two resolutions: to document everything and to do epic stuff.
What will this be about
Substack says that when you kick off here, you're not just firing up a newsletter; you're starting a community. It's like rolling out the red carpet for folks to dive into your brainwaves. So, what's buzzing in my head? I'm into making products that people don't just use, but absolutely love, and I believe that crafting great narratives is essential to developing these epic products.
Here's the plan: I want to share everything I know to help product people. I'll talk about being the first product marketer, building teams from scratch, and conquering new markets. Plus, I'll guide product managers on focusing less on internal stakeholder management and more on loving their customers and creating amazing products for them.
What to expect
Alright, here goes: I'm launching a free weekly newsletter, hitting inboxes every Sunday. Boom, just like that, I've checked off my monthly "do something scary" box. I'm all about writing and sharing, but the idea of commitment? That’s a whole different ball game. Yet, here I am, pinky-promising the internet accountability.
